IAN WRIGHT DISAPPOINTED WITH LIVERPOOL PLAYER’S £35 MILLION TREATMENT

Ian Wright believes Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah’s treatment in Saudi Arabia has been “disrespectful.”

The Saudi Pro League window closes on Thursday, with fans waiting to learn if Mohamed Salah leaves.

Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp’s stance haEPL: He's great, our best player - Mohamed Salah hails Liverpool's new hero after 2-0 win - Daily Post Nigeria s been clear from the start: their star player is not for sale, but Sky Sports says that Al-Ittihad ‘intend to make another bid’.

Given that the Reds spent £35 million for Salah in 2017 (Sky Sports), and now there is speculation that he might be sold for near to or beyond £200 million, it is a significant profit for the club

But, given how vital Salah is to Liverpool and Klopp, that ‘profit’ means nothing to the fans, because his remaining is far more crucial, as Wright expressed.

Why are the Saudis waiting so long to make a move for Salah?

“I don’t know if that’s the Saudi guys flexing,” Wright added. “Coming in that late for a player of his caliber, you’re not going to let him go.”

“It’s almost disrespectful to him; it’s just unsettled him right now.”

Unless something extraordinary occurs between now and Thursday midnight, Salah is likely to remain in Merseyside.

The Egypt international is now on international duty after a solid start to the new Premier League season, including a goal against Aston Villa over the weekend.

After their struggles last season, there is speculation that Klopp may mount a Premier League title challenge this season. If that is the case, Salah must stay fit.
