Prince William unexpectedly decided to visit the Aston Villa players in the locker room on Thursday after watching their most recent Europa Conference League match. The Prince of Wales traveled to Villa Park and was observed there by television crews as he celebrated their 1-0 comeback victory over Bosnian underdogs Zrinjski Mostar. However, his post-game visit delayed head coach Unai Emery

Thursday night was no exception, as Emery’s team was widely favored to defeat their opponents. The prince is frequently spotted at Villa Park. However, it took a goal from John McGinn in the 95th minute to secure all three points, just as the hosts were about to cap the evening with yet another disappointing outcome.

When the TV cameras turned to Prince William, he appeared to be enjoying the game while seated in the directors’ box. He was observed to be in good spirits the entire time while sitting next to injured defender Tyrone Mings, who is recuperating from a knee injury incurred in August.

According to BBC Sport, Villa manager Emery gave William permission to talk to the players after the game in the Villa locker room.

Emery’s post-game media obligations were allegedly delayed by William’s visit to meet the players, preventing the Spaniard from speaking with the UK broadcaster of the competition, TNT Sports.

However, it appears like Emery didn’t mind the interruption since he elaborated on what the Prince had just spoken with William about what he had said to the Villa team after the game.

“I’ve met him three times now. He is welcome because he is rooting for us and experiencing our emotions, Emery informed the media during the news conference following the game.
