Gift Orban is being lined up by Tottenham Hotspur after Harry Kane’s departure and that could suit the Gent striker.Saturday morning brought the news that Tottenham fans had long feared – the departure of hero Kane.

The England international has completed a big-money move to Bayern Munich as he seeks to win some trophies.

Tottenham fans have begrudgingly said goodbye to their talismanic goalscorer and will ultimately hope to see another hitman arrive.

Gent forward Orban appears to be a key target as the London Evening Standard claim that a ‘formal move’ is now expected in the coming weeks.

The Nigerian is inexperienced having played just 50 games across spells with Stabaek and Gent.

44 goals in that time is pretty ridiculous though and the 21-year-old is widely expected to become a superstar in the coming years.

Hailed as a ‘phenomenon’ by Gent boss Hein Vanhaezebrouck, Orban is emerging as a top Tottenham target with Kane now gone.

Gift Orban has already made his feelings on Arsenal clear

Orban has already been linked with a number of English clubs but one team he doesn’t fancy is Arsenal.

Speaking in May, Orban stated ‘I don’t really like Arsenal that much’, suggesting that he would prefer to join Liverpool, Manchester City or Manchester United.

On the one hand, Tottenham fans will be loving that Kane’s potential successor has so publicly outlined his dislike of Arsenal.Gift Orban to Tottenham? | Spurs to sign Nigerian Star? - YouTube

Yet the reasoning may actually sound a little like Tottenham too.

Orban suggested; “It’s like they don’t want to win titles. They play and sell players – that’s it.”

Tottenham are famously in a major trophy drought right now and losing Kane may not help their cause.

Spurs would be trying to sell Orban on the dream of being the striker to lead Tottenham to silverware down the line.

That may well appeal to Orban but, given that description of Arsenal, a move to Tottenham may not be absolutely nailed-on even if Spurs do agree a deal with Gent.
