Darren Bent of TalkSPORT believes Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will not sell Bukayo Saka to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool for £150 million.
Bent made the remarks after a hypothetical situation was offered.
If Liverpool sold Mohamed Salah for £200 million and Arsenal paid £150 million for Saka, would Arsenal trade the winger?
Arsenal will not sell the 22-year-old, according to Bent.
Former Arsenal player Paul Merson suggested this weekend that Liverpool sell Salah for £200 million now and then pay Arsenal £150 million for Saka.
Salah has been linked to Al Ittihad, which could launch a £200 million bid for the Egyptian after a £150 million bid was rejected last week.
Arsenal are anticipated to turn down any potential Liverpool bid for Bukayo Saka.
“No,” Bent said on talkSPORT. Arsenal simply would not sell him. Arsenal would decline.”
“Every player has a price on their head, of course,” the former Tottenham striker continued, “but for £150 million, I can’t see Arsenal wanting to sell because who would you replace him with?”
“I don’t think they would, not in the way Arsenal are trying to get through this season,” the commentator added.
“I’m not seeing it.
Arsenal will not be able to sell Bukayo Saka to Liverpool or any other club.
Certainly not for £150 million.
No way.
Saka is an important character at Arsenal and one of the world’s best young players.
The England international has the potential to become a world-class winger in the coming years.
After years of battling to even qualify for the UEFA Champions League, Arsenal is finally a title contender in the Premier League.
The Gunners will not sell one of their most important players, especially in the middle of the season in January 2024.
Saka has made 139 Premier League outings throughout his career.
In those games, the youthful winger has 33 goals and 27 assists.
