According to reports, Arsenal are ‘most likely’ to sign Manchester United target Evan Ferguson from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Gunners have spent over £200m on new signings this summer as they have brought in Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and David Raya.

Arsenal could sign one or two more players before the transfer window closes, but if reports are to be believed, they already have their eye on next summer.

Football Transfers are reporting that Ferguson ‘is on the radar of Arsenal for the next summer transfer window’.

The 18-year-old was one of the breakout stars in the Premier League last season as he scored ten goals in 25 appearances across all competitions. He’s also made a promising start to this campaign as he scored in Brighton’s 4-1 opening day victory against Luton Town.

Ferguson has been heavily linked with Man Utd but he recently penned a long-term contract to commit himself to Brighton until 2028. The report from Football Transfers adds.

‘The striker is valued at £100million by Brighton, which has put off Tottenham from making any move this time around.

‘The Ireland international is also attracting interest from Manchester United but we are told that it’s the Gunners who are most likely to make a move.

‘Ferguson is one of the most highly-rated young talents in the Premier League and Arsenal are looking for a traditional No.9 to come in and compete with Gabriel Jesus, whose injury record has been of concern.’

A separate report from Football Transfers claims ‘Arsenal and Chelsea remain in talks over a transfer for striker Folarin Balogun, with the forward already having agreed personal terms with the Stamford Bridge club’.Arsenal star Folarin Balogun handed perfect transfer path after Chelsea and Tottenham twist - football.london

Balogun netted 21 goals in Ligue Un while on loan at Reims this summer and he is likely to leave Arsenal before the summer transfer window closes. The report continues.

‘Although there is optimism from the Blues that they will be able to come to an agreement over the striker, Arsenal are holding out for a huge sum for the forward.

‘The Gunners intend to bank as close to £50 million for the Hale End graduate as possible, but the Blues have made it clear that they have no interest in doing business at that price.

‘Instead, Chelsea have told their Premier League rivals that they will not go higher than £30m for the 22-year-old.

‘Balogun, who is under contract at Arsenal until 2025, is a player who has attracted a good deal of attention in the summer transfer window, with FootballTransfers exclusively revealing that West Ham United are also interested in the player, who is particularly appreciated by David Moyes.’
