AC Milan are set to complete the signing of Noah Okafor from Red Bull Salzburg over the weekend as per widespread reports, which has raised questions about the non-EU slot issues.
After filling one of the two available with the signing of Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea and with Samuel Chukwueze widely reported to be the next major target, some Milan fans have been asking if Okafor would actually take the second spot.
Switzerland are not actually in the EU, which aroused some suggestions that Okafor would thus count as a non-EU player as the regulation makes it seem simple to suggest.
However, the FIGC regulation states that players with Swiss citizenship are equivalent to EU players in all respects, because they are part of the Schengen agreement and the European Economic Agreement.
That means the slot that the Rossoneri would like to use for Chukwueze is therefore still available.
