According to club source Carlo Pellegatti, AC Milan appears to have its eyes set on OGC Nice star Terem Moffi as a potential cornerstone for their forward line.
Milan is still looking for a long-term replacement for Frenchman Olivier Giroud despite an active summer transfer window that saw the Rossoneri recruit players like Samuel Chukwueze, Christian Pulisic, Noah Okafor, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
The club had indicated interest in Medhi Taremi all summer long, and even reached an agreement with Porto, but was unable to complete a trade for the Iranian international before the window closed.
Milan’s Jonathan David has also been mentioned in recent rumors as a player for Lille.According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan assessed David’s potential in June and July when his price tag was roughly €60 million.
Their late loan proposal, though, was turned down.
On Radio Rossonera, Pellegatti offered his opinion on Milan’s pending transfers. He mentioned the Jonathan David rumors while also disclosing insider information on the club’s pursuit of Terem Moffi.
“I know that Milan will follow and is already following, trust me, my idol Terem Moffi. 1.88m tall, costs €25 million, and Nice is open for discussions.
“There, I can guarantee they are keeping a close eye on him, and perhaps they will make a move. I’m confident because I know it. I’ve read about David, but I’d be more convinced if they confirmed it to me.”
After scoring 35 goals in 90 games for FC Lorient, Moffi, 24, has a strong record in France with ten goals and four assists in 24 appearances for Nice.
He ranks after Victor Ikpeba (55 goals) and John Utaka (59 goals) as the third-highest scoring Nigerian in the history of the French top division with 41 Ligue 1 goals.
