OKAFOR SIGNES A FIVE-YEAR DEAL WITH MILAN FROM RED BULL SALZBURG

Noah Okafor is officially a new player of Milan.

The deal with Red Bull Salzburg emerged almost out of nowhere yesterday, and it is now official: Okafor is a new member of coach Stefano Pioli’s side.

The versatile attacker’s contract in Austria expired in 2024, which Milan utilized to their advantage to sign him for €14 million plus bonuses, a far lower price than the €25 million wanted for him just a few weeks ago.

“Milan is delighted to announce that Noah Arinzechukwu Okafor has joined the Club on a permanent basis from FC Red Bull Salzburg.” The Swiss forward has agreed to terms with the Rossoneri until 30 June 2028, according to a statement.

“Nathan was born on May 24, 2000, in Binningen, Switzerland, and grew up in the FC Basel development system before making his professional debut with the club in 2018. He went on to score seven goals in 54 games for FCB, winning one Swiss Cup along the way. He then transferred to Salzburg in January 2020, where he appeared in 110 games and scored 34 goals. With Die Roten Bullen, he won four Austrian Bundesliga titles and three Austrian Cups. Noah has 14 caps and two goals for Switzerland in international football.”

“Noah Okafor will be wearing the number 17 shirt.” The 23-year-old will wear Rafael Leo’s old number and will compete for a starting spot alongside the Portuguese. Okafor will fly to the United States tomorrow to join the club for a pre-season training camp and friendly matches.

Noah is the club’s sixth summer acquisition, following Marco Sportiello, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luka Romero, Christian Pulisic, and Tijjani Reijnders. Samuel Chukwueze from Villarreal will be the club’s seventh signing.
