Milan has made a €20 million bid for a player who wants to leave PSV.

AC Milan have emerged as late contenders with PSV Eindhoven in the race to sign Jerdy Schouten, according to a report from the Netherlands.

According to Eindhovens Dagblad, PSV are looking to get a deal for Schouten over the line as quickly as possible because they are expected to lose Ibrahim Sangare before the window ends.

PSV have offered €12m to sign the Dutchman from Bologna, but they are not the only club in the running because Milan have put forward a bid worth €20m as per the source.

However, the report mentions that Schouten would prefer to return to his home country and join PSV, because he wants to get back into the Netherlands squad ahead of the upcoming European Championships.

From Bologna’s standpoint, they would obviously rather accept the higher offer even if it means that the 26-year-old were to move to a fellow Serie A club.

Schouten has regularly been linked with Milan since his arrival in Italy, and last season he racked up two assists in 33 league appearances.
