Milan is closing in on a deal with Villarreal for Chukwueze, according to reports.

Villarreal forward and Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze is edging nearer to securing a move to Milan after positive discussions between the two clubs on Wednesday according to reports from Calciomercato.com.

The Italian outlet suggests that Villarreal value their player at around €35m, but an agreement could be found for closer to €30m plus bonuses.

Milan reportedly have an agreement in principle with Chukwueze himself, who is said to be keen on the idea of the move, and have already agreed upon his salary.

As per previous reports, the Rossoneri had also been weighing up a move for Arnaut Danjuma, also from Villarreal, who according to Fabrizio Romano looks set to join Everton instead.

Calciomercato points out that if Milan were to sign Chukwueze, they will have used up both of their designated slots allocated for the arrivals of non-EU players each year.

Given that Ruben Loftus-Cheek has already taken up one of those slots, Milan would have to drop their pursuit of Porto and Iran striker Mehdi Taremi if Chukwueze does end up signing.
