Player Ratings: AC Milan 2-0 Lazio – Reijnders dynamic; wingers decisive

In front of a packed San Siro, AC Milan defeated Lazio by a score of two goals to zero to add three more points to their total. The Rossoneri’s player ratings are listed below. Several players performed admirably.

Beginning XI

Maignan (6): Overall, his distribution was respectable and he didn’t have to make any significant saves this evening. To be honest, there isn’t much else to say.

Calabria (6): The skipper frequently teamed up with a teammate and it appeared as though Zaccagni had the upper hand on the right wing. He could have performed better with the ball as well, but overall, a respectable performance.

Kjaer (6.5): Strong display from the Dane with many tough duels taken, some won, and a good positioning overall. His pace sometimes haunts him, but tonight he made up for that really with his smartness.

Tomori (7): The Englishman put on yet another commanding performance at the back. He had one or two opportunities to attack when he could have performed better, but you cannot expect more of him defensively. He covered a lot of territory at the back and was a tremendous sweeper.

Hernandez (6.5): The only criticism of him is that he didn’t do it enough. He did well with Leao on a few instances, such as on the opening goal. Additionally, the yellow card (which is now just one away from suspension) was quite unwarranted.

Loftus-Cheek (N/A): With Borussia Dortmund coming up next, we can only hope that the injury he suffered forced him from the field after just 29 minutes.

Adli (6.5): He didn’t appear all that frequently in the first half, save for when he made a number of fouls and ought to have been cautioned. However, he stepped up in the second and played a big part in setting up the opening goal.

He was particularly crucial for Milan this evening, according to Reijnders (7). He may have missed the first-half rebound opportunity, but he was always going to be tough (and at least he arrived). He was essential to Milan’s strong press and helped to set up the opening goal, particularly at the beginning of the second half. After that, he continued to annoy Lazio and also almost scored.

Pulisic (7.5): He easily could have been MOTM tonight, to be honest, but we’ll get to that later. The American looked bright from the start and was one of the few who pulled off one-twos in the first half. The goal was obviously decisive, and he came close to a second after that. Very good overall.

Giroud (5.5): It wasn’t his night, which was unfortunate because today is his birthday. Aside from the one opportunity in the first half, he simply lacked adequate position and coordination with his teammates.

Leao (7.5 – MOTM): There is no denying that he had good and terrible moments in the first half, but he finished the game with two assists. On the first, Theo delivered just what you would hope for, and on the second, he was spectacular. He takes action.

Substitutes

Musah (7): The young player who wasn’t scared to challenge his man on the right put in yet another excellent effort. Additionally, he had excellent ball control and coordinated efficiently with his teammates up to the last buzzer. He is really talented.

Okafor (6.5): Although it was a tap-in, which must be taken into account, he was in the perfect place and was able to build on the goal he scored earlier this week against Cagliari. He can participate even more, but tonight it was difficult since Lazio pressed for a goal.

Pobega (six): He played well defensively and provided a beautiful ball to Leao just before the second goal.

Florenzi (6.5): He did very well in the inverted role and once again looked confident on the pitch.

Chukwueze (N/A): We didn’t see enough to give him a rating.
