According to Pasquale La Ragione, the Sportlifecity firm presented the material for the request for a change to the Integrated Intervention Plan pertaining to the San Francesco region to the Council of San Donato Milanese today.
It is the request that affirms and consolidates Milan’s desire to build their own stadium in San Donato Milanese, with a gross surface area of 108,000m2.
This comprises a new stadium with a capacity of 70,000 seats, modeled like other prominent top clubs in the globe, as well as additional services that will house hotel, entertainment, and commercial facilities.
It is touted as an innovative and ambitious concept, yet it is completely consistent with the project amounts and intended uses that are previously planned for that region.
San Donato Mayor Francesco Squeri responded, saying, “An important process of evaluating the technical-administrative feasibility and the opportunity that this project can represent for everyone begins for the Administration, also through the activation of citizen participation.”
It is a significant day that provides us with decisions, whatever they may be, that will have an influence on our city’s future.
A project is officially registered which can represent, not only for San Donato, a challenge and an opportunity for development, work and social growth.
Our task as Administration now begins once the Sportlifecity corporation formally announced San Donato as the post-San Siro venue. The project’s contents will be thoroughly assessed for a preliminary feasibility check associated with the beginning of the formal procedure.
As has been stated numerous times, once the viability of the proposed urban planning operation has been established, we will research and put into practice all available tools to ensure the participation of the City Council, residents, associations, and political parties in a decision that must place the public interest at the center of an operation that aims to make our city seize a significant opportunity for revitalization and attractiveness in the years to come.
Along with the city, we will also involve the Lombardy Region, the Metropolitan City, the City of Milano, and the surrounding municipalities, as well as the Milan Metro, Autostrade per l’Italia, the South Milan Agricultural Park, and the Railways, which are all involved in the decisions that will impact the success of such a historic and ambitious project.
This match is an accomplishment that can only be accomplished with everyone’s participation, no one being left out. In this regard, a copy of all the material that the offices are creating will be sent to the Council Groups in the upcoming days.
This will only be the first step to start a process of involvement of the city to reach a decision, which can mature according to methods and procedures worthy of the choice that, together, we must make.”
