They hosted Brentford last week, visited AC Milan on the road, and are now getting ready to travel to Sheffield United. That undoubtedly strains Eddie Howe’s team.
Newcastle must fire Joelinton
Joelinton, who may have benefitted the most from Howe’s hiring, hasn’t been at his best this year.
The engine room has not yet connected when switching back to the center midfield position that completely changed his Newcastle career and away from the left-wing position he played for the majority of previous season.
Obviously, Joelinton’s lingering knee problem would not have made it easier for him to get along with Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali, so perhaps judgment should be withheld.
No matter how well-liked he may be, few would deny the £40 million star has struggled in the first few weeks of the campaign. There is hope that everything will come together soon, but given the levels of expectation, Newcastle isn’t given a lot of time.
Newcastle needs crucial players like Joelinton to be on fire if they are to continue competing on both the domestic and international fronts.
