AC Milan are looking to close the signing of a centre-back before the window closes and they have a No.1 target on their list who plays in Greece, a report claims.
Gianluca Di Marzio confirms that want to strengthen the defensive department and the first choice target is Konstantinos Koulierakis of PAOK Thessaloniki. The initial request for the 19-year-old is €10m plus bonuses and the parties are working to lower that.
If the management do not manage to close a deal for Koulierakis, Milan could return to Marco Pellegrino of Club Atletico Platense. However, Serie B side Sampdoria have already moved to try and sign him on loan.
After the rumours of an interest from Milan, the Blucerchiati have returned to the negotiating table for Pellegrino and have made an offer to buy him outright for €3.5m plus a 20% future resale clause.
At the moment there is no agreement on the terms of payment, so the door remains open.
