AC Milan’s 10th summer signing ‘could be an internal solution’ as per one journalist, namely the promotion of Yacine Adli to a more important role.
Adli’s future has remained a mystery over the past few weeks as he has been used in most of the preseason friendlies – mostly in the regista role in midfield – but has always had rumours swirling around about a sale
According to Pietro Mazzara’s latest for MilanNews, Adli could be Milan’s ‘tenth market signing’. Last season he fluttered between being a ‘mysterious object’ and ‘something similar to the Messiah’ but has switched position over the summer.
After a conversation with Pioli, he gladly accepted the idea of moving back a bit to play in front of the defence as a deep-lying playmaker, as a deputy to Rade Krunic but offering different solutions.
Mazzara adds that ‘his technique is not lacking, it is the physical and mental pace that he must raise’ in order to be successful in this side under Pioli.
In short, he must be much more intense and this was also made clear by Pioli during yesterday’s press conference. He ‘has to go from being an ’80s player to a modern player’, and then he could really begin to shine.
It comes after our recent report which stated that Pioli seems to have done a U-turn on Adli and is now willing to try him in the new-look midfield three, even if the management are still listening to offers.
