Graham Potter backed away from Rangers race
Reports that Rangers were considering former Chelsea manager Graham Potter surfaced even before Beale was fired.
The Sun reported in September that Potter had turned down a bid from Rangers because Beale was struggling.
Potter has decided against moving to Ibrox, the Daily Record revealed earlier this month.
Potter refused to be considered for the Rangers post, apparently believing that a transfer to Glasgow was not the right fit for him.
Rangers switched to Clement, and it appears that Potter is ready to turn his back on England as well…
Potter has no intention of waiting for a job in England.
Potter is reportedly a possibility for The FA should they need to replace Gareth Southgate following Euro 2024 in the summer, according to The Telegraph.
Potter, though, doesn’t intend to wait until next summer to accept the England position; instead, he would much rather return to club management this season.
That is interesting because there were whispers that Potter was leaving Rangers to wait for a position with England.
Rather, it appears that Potter could have moved elsewhere and didn’t think joining the Rangers was the right decision for him at that particular time.
Let’s see what Potter’s main strategy is as he seeks to rebuild his reputation after leaving Chelsea. Rangers and England are two very important jobs to turn down.
