About his exile in Nottingham Forest, Jonjo Shelvey has shared details. The 31-year-old midfielder and Forest boss Steve Cooper had a falling out, and he is now on loan at Turkish club Rizespor.
Shelvey only signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Newcastle United in January when he arrived at the City Ground. However, he only made eight Premier League appearances for the team before being cut.
When Forest made their way back into the Premier League in the final stages of the previous season, he was not on the field. Following that, he was loaned to Rizespor and did not go to the team’s preseason training camp in Spain.

Shelvey told our sister publication Chronicle Live that it “hurt massively” to be told he wouldn’t be playing for Forest and that he would have to train by himself on a nearby Ponteland pitch. “My missus knew what kind of state my mental side was in,” he stated.
Shelvey claimed to have “fallen out of love” with the game, but he is currently back at Caykur Rizespor, where he is on loan, “enjoying football,” and he even makes his home at the training facility.
