Shocking News: Another Aston Villa Play Maker Has Agree to Sign New Five Years Contract

Ollie Watkins is about to agree to a new, five-year deal with Aston Villa.

The new terms are expected to extend the England striker’s current contract, which runs until 2025, to 2028.

The Premier League team is finalizing, and a formal announcement will come after.

With seven goals in 11 games, Watkins has had a fantastic start to the season for Villa.

Despite scoring zero goals in his first five Premier League appearances, he has already netted four in his past two, including a hat-trick on Saturday against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 27-year-old was re-called by Gareth Southgate for the forthcoming matches with Australia and Italy later this month. Since his debut in March 2021, the player has earned seven caps for England and scored twice.

Watkins left Brentford for Villa in 2020 for a then-club-record £28 million transfer price, and he has since scored 50 goals in 127 games for the team.

Villa, who are now sixth in the Premier League, will resume play on Sunday against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 12-minute blitz left Brighton without a way to turn around.

Watkins’ completion of his hat-trick, his 50th goal for Villa, and his most complete performance made it simple for Villa to pickpocket during the transition.

Watkins became the first player for Villa to score two hat-tricks in a season since Andy Gray in 1976–1977 in front of England manager Gareth Southgate.

Watkins described how Villa completely outclassed Brighton. Roberto De Zerbi was left wondering where “the true Brighton” had vanished due to the pace, directness, and regimented role.
