It is my fears: Frank Lampard currently discusses a story from his conversation with Bill Kenwright at Everton

Former Everton manager Frank Lampard has disclosed a question that chairman Bill Kenwright asked him during the interview. In January 2022, Frank Lampard was named Everton’s manager after previously serving as Chelsea’s and Derby County’s manager. At Goodison Park, the former England midfielder had a strong start and was able to keep the Toffees from being demoted from the Premier League.

But Lampard’s performance last year suffered significantly, and Everton decided to fire him in January 2023.Then, Sean Dyche was chosen to take his place.

At this point, Lampard has considered his time as manager at Goodison Park. He talked specifically about the interview process that resulted in him being hired in the first place.

Lampard’s appointment was overseen by Chairman Bill Kenwright, who also participated in the interviewing process. Lampard has now shared a story involving the procedure.

Speaking on Monday Night Football for Sky Sports, Lampard noted that moving from a London club to a city like Liverpool is a significant distance in terms of football. Even in terms of social interactions, there is a significant variance in culture. Going in, that was one of my worries.

Bill Kenwright asked me, Do you think a cockney can manage Everton Football Club? during a meeting we had at the time. Well, what do you think? I asked. You must choose this course of action!

Dyche attempting to defy the odds at Everton

Lampard’s inability to revitalize Everton was not due to his London heritage. He was incapable of doing the task. Everton is a challenging place for managers to succeed, or at least it has been in recent years when the club has been caught in a downward trend on the field and coping with financial difficulties off it.

Everton’s chairman since 2004 is Kenwright. The theatre mogul has served on the club’s board since 1989, and throughout that time, he has faced a fair amount of criticism. Additionally, he has witnessed many managers come and go.

If Everton’s performance doesn’t rapidly improve, Dyche might be the next manager fired. They are having trouble maintaining consistency at both ends of the field as they have yet to win a Premier League game at Goodison Park this season.
