I am Interested: Birmingham City manager submits an application for new Job

John Eustace, the manager of Birmingham City, is interested in managing Rangers, but there is no guarantee the club will make a bid for him.

The St. Andrews manager, 43, is one of four coaches who have previously indicated interest in the position, according to Sky Sports.

John Eustace has expressed interest in managing, joining ex-Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, AZ Alkmaar manager Pascal Jansen, and Yokohama F Marinos manager Kevin Muscat.

It comes after Michael Beale, the now-former manager of the Rangers, came under increasing criticism, and the Daily Mail mentioned John Eustace as a prospective Michael Beale replacement back in September.

Since the summer of 2022, John Eustace has been in charge of Birmingham City after replacing Lee Bowyer at the English Championship team.

The manager led the team to their highest point total since 2016, despite being predicted to be relegated to League One, but he has had a bumpy start to this year.

Even though John Eustace is apparently interested in moving to Rangers, Birmingham is now 12th in a tough Championship and will be aiming for a Playoff spot this season.

Rangers held a trial for John Eustace.

Fans of Ibrox will also recall the former midfielder from a fruitless audition with the team in 2015 under Mark Warburton.

Despite being photographed in training gear and obviously seeking to land a contract at Rangers, the midfielder’s fitness difficulties prevented him from ever signing on at Ibrox.

Of course, there are more than ten names that have been touted as potential possibilities for the Rangers position, not just John Eustace.

Among them, Kevin Muscat, Pascal Jansen, and Frank Lampard are perhaps the most talked-about, if not the front-runners, to fill the position.

Rangers have made it clear that they would take their time in selecting Ibrox great Steven Davis to serve as the team’s interim manager for the upcoming games against AEL Limassol and St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership and Europa League, respectively.
