Real Madrid apparently wants to hire Roberto De Zerbi as their manager.
According to sources in Spain, Real Madrid is considering hiring Roberto De Zerbi as manager of Brighton at the end of the current campaign.
De Zerbi joined the Seagulls in September of last year and has excelled at the Amex, surpassing Graham Potter’s excellent performance there.
Before overseeing a Premier League game, the Italian head coach was hilariously dismissed by former Liverpool captain and manager Graeme Souness.
De Zerbi “doesn’t know Our League,” the sour Scot said, and we won’t let him forget it.
De Zerbi has garnered accolades for leading Brighton into Europe for the first time in their history and is apparently garnering interest from some of the top football teams in the globe.
Real Madrid, whose current manager Carlo Ancelotti is anticipated to leave when his contract expires in 2024, is reportedly considering De Zerbi.
Los Blancos are considering Xabi Alonso, the manager of Bayer Leverkusen and the club’s former player, in addition to Ancelotti, who is most likely to accept the Brazil position.
Opinion: Untouched Brighton under De Zerbi might win the Triple Crown in 2025–2026.
Given his connections to the Madrid team and his outstanding performance in Germany, Alonso is undoubtedly the front-runner.
De Zerbi and Alonso are two of the names being considered, although no decision has yet been made in the Spanish capital.
According to journalist Jesus Gallego, De Zerbi has the Real management’s attention after “managing to lift” Brighton with their “very colorful game.”
It is believed that the former Shakhtar Donetsk manager is one of “the big names” who is qualified to succeed Ancelotti.
It is hardly surprising to hear that De Zerbi may be leaving Brighton given the fantastic work he has done there.
