The Nottingham Forest B-Team defeated Crystal Palace 4-3 on Saturday at the Reds’ training facility to earn a thrilling victory. Forest had a player in Brandon Aguilera who was in excellent form.
and Brandon Aguilera had restored parity.
Umeh scored his second of the match in the 55th minute and it looked as though the Eagles were set for a win. In the fourth minute of added time, Manni Norkett equalised and two minutes later, Jamie McDonnell ensured a dramatic victory for the young Reds.
Harry Toffolo also started the game for Forest. He is trying to work his way back to full-match fitness and played for just over an hour in the latest B-Team contest.
It was Forest gem Aguilera who looked the part throughout though. He does look like a real player and his goal was just the tip of the iceberg during a very professional display.
And remember to breathe! This was a fascinating match between two talented young sides, and Nottingham will be wondering how they didn’t get anything for their efforts.
Palace, on the other hand, found a player in top form in Forest starlet Aguilera. Clearly, Forest’s choice not to loan him out and instead allow him to play B-Team football is paying off.
At the age of 20, the sportsman has plenty of time to continue honing his talents. As a result, the club may view a loan move as something that could happen in the future.
In pre-season, Aguilera was called a ‘baller’ by Forest defender Moussa Niakhate. The Senegalese defender perhaps had a point and it will be fascinating to see how Aguilera continues to develop.
