Roberto Firmino, a former star for Liverpool, has been cited by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the Manchester United manager’s biggest headache.
During Solskjaer’s time at the club, Liverpool dominated versus United, defeating their Manchester rivals by scores of 4-0 and 5-0.
Since Firmino frequently plays for Liverpool in crucial matches, it’s maybe not unexpected that Solskjaer chose the forward as the opponent he detested the most.
Firmino’s departure from Anfield this summer means that United won’t have to deal with the attacker this year, and Solskjaer has given the striker some well-deserved praise.
“Roberto Firmino was probably the opposition player who caused me the most problems as a manager,” the Norwegian manager added.
Solskjaer may still experience nightmares when facing Liverpool.
With just one win in eight games against Liverpool as a manager, Solskjaer’s time on the touchline facing the Reds hasn’t been a fruitful one.
And the former United manager could still be having nightmares about the Anfield side, with Arsenal the only side to have as good a record against Solskjaer in the Premier League.
Indeed, Firmino will be a main reason behind this fear, and Solskjaer will no doubt be grateful that the forward is now in Saudi Arabia having left Merseyside this summer.
