Mykhailo Mudryk needs to have a greater understanding of the game, according to Mauricio Pochettino, if he is to thrive at Chelsea.

In Sunday’s 0-0 tie between Chelsea and Bournemouth, Mudryk received a start, but once again, he was a huge letdown.

Before being replaced on the 63rd minute, he was one of the poorest players on the field.

Despite some promising moments, such as the chance he gave Conor Gallagher, he misplaced the ball a startling 16 times.

This was a Chelsea player’s highest daily average for possession lost per minute of play.

Although Mudryk needs to better understand the game, Pochettino acknowledged after the game that he is improving as a player.

What did Pochettino say about Mudryk?

He’s getting better. He has more to learn, according to Pochettino.

He needs to comprehend the game more thoroughly and attempt to sometimes connect with the squad more.

We must give him the resources and time he needs to advance.

The 22-year-old’s first nine months at the club have been a complete disaster.

In January, the wide receiver moved to Chelsea for €100 million after the Blues snatched the Ukrainian winger away from Arsenal.

At Stamford Bridge, Mudryk has struggled miserably, though.

In 21 appearances, he has managed just two assists and no goals despite a streak of subpar efforts.

Mudryk has fallen down the attacking pecking order as a result of his bad play, and he hasn’t showed any signs of changing this year.

Due to an injury crisis on Sunday, Mudryk was forced back into the starting lineup but did not capitalize on his opportunity.
