After traces of testosterone were discovered in testing after Juventus’ victory against Udinese on the first day of the season on August 20, Paul Pogba reportedly tested positive for doping.

Despite being randomly tested, the 30-year-old did not play in Juventus’ 3-0 victory because of ongoing injury problems since returning to the club on a free transfer from Manchester United last summer.

According to Max Allegri, Pogba entered Juve’s next two matches as a substitute before sustaining a back injury. Italian media outlets have now revealed the findings of the tests, and official statements from the player and club are about to be released.Pogba hope and concern after Palomino cleared of doping - Football Italia

Before Pogba can be adjudged to have failed the test, the Frenchman has three days to present a counter-analysis of the outcome, with a second sample due to be checked.

Unless he admits to using the prohibited substance, Pogba will have to go before the Italian national anti-doping tribunal for a hearing if the results are confirmed. According to Metro, he has been “provisionally suspended.”

Even while testosterone is frequently used to treat injuries outside of football, using it without a medicinal exemption might result in a four-year suspension for Pogba.

With only six Serie A games last season due to his physical concerns, which also caused him to miss the 2022 World Cup, the dispute would be Pogba’s most recent setback.

The former United player revealed recently that he had thought about quitting football during his recent ordeals and that he had been connected with a move to Saudi Arabia over the summer.

Pogba also experienced personal problems because his relatives were involved in extortion schemes against him, which resulted in an abduction attempt in March of last year.

All eyes will be on future developments to determine Pogba’s future as there are still three years left on his contract at Juventus, where he is one of the most paid players.
