JUST IN: Newcastle star Tonali is set to make a double Milan homecoming this month.

Sandro Tonali only recently signed with Newcastle United on July 3, yet he frequently finds himself being drawn back to San Siro, first for Italy and then to take on Milan in the Champions League. The midfielder’s transfer cost a club record €64 million, plus €6 million in bonuses and a 10% sell-on fee cut.

With the Magpies, he has made a good first impression by scoring in his Premier League debut.

Although Tonali will be in some pretty familiar places over the next couple of weeks, the pull of home is stronger than normal.

The 23-year-old is now representing Italy in a match against North Macedonia on Saturday night.

On Sunday, September 9 and Monday, September 10, the team will take a flight back to Milan for training at the Rossoneri’s Milanello camp.

He will next enter San Siro for Tuesday night’s qualifying for the 2024 European Championship versus Ukraine.

It will be a whirlwind for Tonali, who can then fly back to Newcastle before returning to the same stadium on Tuesday, September 19, for the first Champions League group match versus Milan.
