Ason Villa displayed late interest in a £73m player, but his manager did not want to sell.

Aston Villa showed late interest in Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho in the last transfer window.

That is according to Ben Jacobs’ CaughtOffside column.

Jadon Sancho is thought to be a player who Chelsea considered when the market was open, but it appears that Aston Villa also looked at the 23-year-old.

Jacobs has claimed that Villa had Sancho.

Tottenham Hotspur considered him earlier in the summer, and he was on their radar late in the window.

According to the writer, Erik ten Hag did not want to sell the England international, thus a deal would have been impossible for the Midlands club to complete.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea considered bringing Sancho to Stamford Bridge but instead signed Cole Palmer from Manchester City.

.

While Villa did not sign Sancho in the end, like Chelsea, they were able to improve their attack by signing Moussa Diaby and Nicolo Zaniolo.

Jadon Sancho might be available.

While Ten Hag was hesitant to trade Sa.ancho in the previous transfer window, it could be a different story in the next one, perhaps benefiting Villa.

There appears to be a schism between the United manager and his player right now, as the former Borussia Dortmund star reacted angrily to his manager’s assertion that he has not been training properl

“I will not allow people to say things that are completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week,” Sancho, who cost Manchester United £73 million, said on Twitter in response to Ten Hag’s claim.

If things do not settle down, Villa may make a bid for Sancho next year.
