new catch Pau Torres claims that before he signed for Villa in a move worth about £35 million, returning manager Unai Emery sold him on “the project.”
On Wednesday, the 26-year-old completed his relocation to the Second City, reuniting with Emery, under whom he had previously worked at Villareal.
And the Spain defender believes now is the best time to move to the Premier League.
“With the boss, we’ve had conversations in which he explained to me the project that he has here at Aston Villa, a project that drew me in,” Torres stated.
“We had discussed the possibility of me coming, and we thought this was the best time for it to happen.” And so here I am.
“I’m looking forward to starting and demonstrating my football ability.”
