Burnley boss Silent and what it means after Spurs thumping

After Burnley’s 5-2 loss to Tottenham, manager Vincent Kompany thought his team should have done more.

After taking an early lead, the Clarets were thoroughly beaten.

“I’m not happy about it, but it’s easier to fix the defensive side than the lack of opportunities in the team,” Kompany added.

“Against teams like Manchester City, Aston Villa, and now Tottenham, we create opportunities at a very high level, so that’s something we have to preserve in our style while also getting more solid.

“That’s something you can improve on, and our team still has a ton of space to grow.

We acknowledge the difficulty of the task, and it becomes clear that each game will be difficult when you consider the overall number of points the promoted teams have earned this year.

“I spent 11 years of my life in the Premier League, so I have a pretty good understanding of what it is,” the Belgian continued.

“This one was the same. It’s a good team with a lot of attacking potential, and at times, particularly in the second half, we struggled to compete.

There are some advantages on either side of that time span, but not enough to compete with that level of team at this moment
