Chelsea confirm arrival of Cole Palmer from Manchester City
Chelsea has finalized the signing of English attacker Cole Palmer from Manchester City on a seven-year contract with an option for an extra year.
The 21-year-old revealed his departure from Manchester City on Friday morning, praising his boyhood club for their support over the years.
Chelsea have already confirmed his long-term arrival, and Palmer could be in the team for Saturday’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.
“I’m excited to get started, and signing feels great.” “I’ve joined Chelsea because the project here sounds interesting and because of the platform I’ll have to use to try to showcase my talents,” Palmer told the club’s official website.
“We have a young and hungry team here, and hopefully we can do something special.
“Cole arrives with experience of winning the Premier League and Champions League and adds further quality and versatility to our attacking unit,” Chelsea’s co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley remarked.
“He has demonstrated his talent and potential in the most difficult environments, and he delivered for England this summer at the European Under-21 Championships.”

Palmer appeared for Man City’s first team 41 times in all competitions, scoring six goals and contributing two assists.
The dynamic forward has already scored twice this season in three games for the Citizens, against Arsenal in the Community Shield and Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup.
Palmer came off the bench in Man City’s opening 2023-24 Premier League encounter against Burnley at Turf Moor on August 11.
However, the academy product has gone unnoticed in the club’s last two league games against Newcastle United and Sheffield United.
West Ham United were connected with Palmer earlier this month, but it is understood that the Hammers were merely aiming to sign him on loan, which Pep Guardiola’s side immediately refused.
Chelsea are thought to have spent around £40 million plus a potential £2.5 million in add-ons, taking the club’s spending under owner Todd Boehly above £1 billion.
