LILLE REFUSE €5M SUNDERLAND OFFER TO ALAN VIRGINIUS

According to RMC Sport reporter Fabrice Hawkins, Lille have rejected a bid from Championship team Sunderland for French youth international winger Alan Virginius.

Édouard Michut, a PSG junior player who spent last season on loan with the Black Cats, has made a €5 million offer. The deal is being arranged by Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, the English club’s primary stakeholder and the late former owner of Marseille.

The former Sochaux winger, who joined Les Dogues last summer, is rumored to have his sights set on Lille and is especially excited about the possibility of competing for the Paulo Fonseca-led team in the Conference League. Yesterday, the squad defeated Rijeka in the opening leg of their play-off. Last year, the France U20 international made 18 appearances for the first squad in all competitions, scoring once in addition to his three goals in five games with the reserve team.
