The Bosnian is highly sought after by the Turkish giants, who have recently lodged a second bid of €7m to be paid in separate instalments as per recent reports. Milan continue to push for a fee upwards of €12m.

It is believed that Krunic already has an agreement in place on personal terms with Fenerbahce for a four-year contract worth somewhere between €3m-€3.5m per season, almost three times as much as the €1.2m annual salary he currently earns at San Siro.

However, as Calciomercato writes, if it were purely up to Stefano Pioli, Krunic would almost certainly still be a Rossoneri player long into the future.

But, Fenerbahce’s pursuit of Krunic shows no signs of slowing down any time soon, which means that Milan must start preparing for a situation where the 29-year-old does depart.

Calciomercato suggests that Nico Dominguez of Bologna could be a relatively attainable target. The 24-year-old’s contract is set to expire next summer and he has recently been stripped of the Bologna captaincy due to his reluctance to sign a new deal.

Bologna could request a fee of around €10m, while the player would command an annual salary of around €800,000.

Porto and former Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has also been mentioned as a possibility for Milan. According to Calciomercato, Milan have already previously requested information from Porto about the 27-year-old’s situation.

Jordan Veretout of Olympique Marseille is another option, although his love for the club he currently plays for could make a transfer difficult to achieve.
