Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is reportedly about to leave for Real Madrid.
Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga will join Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The Italian journalist has claimed that Kepa will move to La Liga giants Madrid on loan from Premier League outfit Chelsea.
Kepa Arrizabalaga to leave Chelsea for Real Madrid
There is no obligation for Madrid to make the loan deal permanent next summer.
Romano has added that Kepa immediately agreed to switch to Madrid after talks with Bayern Munich.
Madrid are looking for a new goalkepeer due to the injury to Thibaut Courtois.
The former Chelsea goalkeeper ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and is likely to miss the majority of the season, according to BBC Sport.
And it seems that it is £150,000-a-week (Spotrac) Spain international goalkeeper Kepa who is going to replace Courtois in Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Madrid are arguably the biggest club in the world, and leaving Chelsea for Los Blancos would be a step-up for Kepa.
The Spaniard would go straight into the Madrid starting lineup.
Madrid will challenge for the La Liga title this season and will also aim to win the UEFA Champions League.
Kepa has not always had the best of times at Chelsea, and maybe a change of club could help the 28-year-old get back to his best.
The former Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper will have to raise his game at the Santiago Bernabeu, though.
Madrid fans expect to win each and every game, and there will be huge pressure on Kepa to do well between the sticks.
Any error, however small, will be intensely scrutinised.
