Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has raved about Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
Erik ten Hag has told ESPN that Harry Kane is a superb striker, but the Manchester United manager has not explained why he did not try to sign the Tottenham Hotspur star.
According to Sky Sports, Kane is on the verge of joining Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich from Tottenham.
The Times has reported that United did have an interest in Kane, but the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners did not want to pay the £100 million transfer fee that Spurs wanted.
The report has claimed that the Red Devils did not want to pay Kane an annual salary of £30 million either.
United signed Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta instead for £72 million in the summer transfer window, according to The Times.
Erik ten Hag praises Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane
Ten Hag said: “We have chosen a striker and we are really happy with our choice.
“[Kane] is a great striker, a goal maker and apart from that he has all the conditions and abilities that you want to see in a striker. It’s a miss for the Premier League, absolutely.”
While Rasmus Hojlund is a very good striker and has a lot of potential, he is only 20.
Kane is 30 now and is at the top of his game.
The Tottenham striker is world class, and there are no signs that he is slowing down.
We believe that Kane would have been a better signing for United than Hojlund.
The England international would have seamlessly slotted into the Red Devils’ starting lineup and would have hit the ground running.
Kane has made 320 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The striker has scored 213 goals and given 46 assists in those matches.
Tottenham had a poor campaign last season, but Kane still ended up with 30 goals and three assists in the Premier League.
That shows just how good Kane is.
Bayern are a massive club and a global brand, and they are now about to sign a world-class striker in Kane.
