COLUMBUS, Ohio— On Saturday, Ohio State football will aim to add to its already impressive record. ESPN’s College GameDay will air from OSU’s matchup at Oregon.
It will be the Buckeyes’ 60th game at a facility that hosts the renowned college football pregame show.
The trip to Oregon marks Ohio State’s first game this season at a College GameDay location.
Predictions are a key component to the pageantry of the pregame show. At the end of the three-hour show, a panel of experts — who are usually accompanied by a celebrity guest — pick winners for select games. The game at the host site is always picked last.
Former Louisville and Indiana coach Lee Corso is 28-14 when picking OSU.
C.J. Stroud explains his celebration vs. the Bills
Pat McAfee is another member of the College GameDay panel, and he had former OSU quarterback C.J. Stroud on his daily talk show Tuesday.
Stroud joined the show fresh off the Texans’ 23-20 win against the Bills. In the first quarter, Stroud had a 67-yard touchdown pass to receiver Nico Collins.
Cameras caught Stroud after the play staring toward the sideline with his arms crossed and a mean-mugging look on his face.
Stroud told McAfee that wasn’t planned.
“You mess up, you give me the slot, I’m going to take it,“ Stroud said. ”I’m going to just make you pay.
I often just have to remind myself too, I’m still that guy. I can still play this game at a very, very high level.”
