SHOWTIME’: ROMEO LAVIA REACTS TO NEWCASTLE UNITED’S TRANSFER CALL

Romeo Lavia has told Tino Livramento on Instagram that it’s ‘showtime’ following his transfer from Southampton to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

The 20-year-old was relegated with Southampton last season, but unlike Romeo Lavia, he only played two Premier League games because of injury.

But despite Tino Livramento’s situation, those in the Newcastle United boardroom have taken advantage and snapped up the right-back for an initial transfer fee of £32 million, according to Sky Sports.

This is a very good deal from Newcastle’s perspective because, on the one hand, you have the experience of Kieran Trippier, who seems to be getting better and is playing at the top of his game.

Then you have a player like Livramento, who came through the Chelsea academy, and on either side of his big injuries, he has looked outstanding in Southampton colours.

When Newcastle’s new star reacted on Instagram to his new move, he received a number of messages in the comments section of his post, including Lavia telling him it’s ‘showtime’, Chelsea youngster Harvey Vale added, ‘Go time’ and Nathan Redmond told him, All the best, Tino’.

Will Lavia secure a Premier League transfer?

There might be a few more faces that leave Southampton before the 2023 summer transfer window slams shut, including 19-year-old Lavia.

Liverpool have been knocking hardest for the midfielder’s signature, but Southampton just keep knocking back the offers the Reds are putting on the table.

Given that Lavia hasn’t been involved in any of Southampton’s games this season, then it suggests that it will only be a matter of time before he is sold.
