Former NFL player gone after mother was discovered dead

Following the discovery of his mother’s body at their Chicago suburbia residence, police are looking for a former NFL player.

It is believed by investigators that 73-year-old Myrtle Brown was abused before to her demise. It has been determined that she was killed.

Her 35-year-old son Sergio Brown’s whereabouts are still unknown. He is not listed as a suspect by the police.

Mr. Brown had a six-year NFL career, playing for four different professional clubs.

In the community of Maywood, which is located roughly 12 miles (19 km) west of Chicago, police found Ms. Brown “unresponsive near a creek to the rear of her residence” when they were looking into a missing persons report that family members had made.

After her body was sent to the office of the medical examiner, it was discovered that she had sustained multiple assault injuries.

Nick Brown, Mrs. Brown’s other son, appealed for assistance on Instagram on Monday as his brother was still being searched for.

“If you have any information on Sergio’s whereabouts please send them to the Maywood Police Department,” the man added.

It’s a depressing yet hopeful moment, and we’ll all pull through together. My glimmer of hope comes from our most recent discussion on how difficult times are transitory, as my mother has always taught me.

He went on to say that since the family’s Maywood property was still the subject of an ongoing inquiry, people should stay away from it.

Mr. Brown may not be a suspect in this case, according to the police.

In an odd turn of events, Sergio Brown apparently made an appearance on Instagram from Mexico in a video where he refers to allegations of the murder as “fake news.” This was first reported by a Chicago Fox affiliate.

Mr. Brown asserts in the meandering, even nonsensical film that his mother was in Mexico on vacation when the incident occurred. In addition, he charges complicity by the FBI and the Maywood Police Department.

A few hours later, Mr. Brown uploaded a second video to Instagram, this time indicating that he was in Sydney, Australia.

The video is hosted on a different account than his authenticated Instagram page, so the BBC was unable to independently confirm its authenticity.

The Maywood Police Department has been contacted by the BBC for a statement.

2010 saw Mr. Brown, a 2010 Notre Dame University alumnus, start playing with the New England Patriots. Before quitting the NFL in 2016, he played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills, and Indianapolis Colts.

Local resident Carlos Cortez, who last saw the mother and son on Thursday, said the Brown family had informed him that Mr. Brown “wasn’t himself the last few months” to CBS, the BBC’s US partner.

“He was insane,” Mr. Cortez remarked.

He continued by saying that when police watched the video from his doorbell camera, they saw Mr. Brown “taking out the trash, and they see him have a bonfire, where he burnt all her clothes.”
