Packers Pro Shop Unveils New Jerseys for Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney

You can now purchase a Josh Jacobs or Xavier McKinney jersey from the Packers Pro Shop.

The Green Bay Packers have revealed the new numbers for their free agency acquisitions, Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKinney, so you can now purchase their jerseys from the Pro Shop. McKinney will wear number 29, while Jacobs will wear number 8.

Quarterback Sean Clifford, drafted in the fifth round in 2023, landed #8 and will now wear #6 for Jacobs. Clifford doesn’t seem to have had a strong emotional bond with #8, as he wore #14 in both high school and college. Jacobs, meanwhile, wore #8 when playing for the Los Angeles Raiders, Alabama University, and high school.

Additionally, McKinney’s #29 was reserved until a few days ago. Zyon Gilbert, a cornerback on the practice squad, used to wear that number but has since switched to #30. In high school and while playing at Alabama, McKinney wore #15; he currently wears #29 with the New York Giants.

Funny enough, McKinney immediately discovered why no player on the Green Bay roster now wore #15—a number retired in honor of former quarterback Bart Starr.

It looks like the internal signings made by the Packers will also retain their numbers for the time being. It is anticipated that linebacker Kristian Welch, cornerback Keisean Nixon, tight end Tyler Davis, running back AJ Dillon, and cornerback Corey Ballentine would all wear the same numbers that they have previously worn for Green Bay.
