Jordan Davis and wife Kristen welcome their third child, saying, “God is good.”
The newest member of Jordan Davis and his wife Kristen’s family has been formally welcomed.
The country music artist announced on social media on Thursday, June 15, that his wife had given birth to their baby, Elijah Patrick, by posting a black and white image of the young child gripping his fingers.
“God is good!” was what his caption said. Elijah Patrick, my kid, is alive and well. His mother did a fantastic job bringing him here, and we anticipate returning him soon to his siblings and sister.”
The pair used Davis’ heartfelt ballad and current radio smash, “Next Thing You Know,” to reveal Kristen’s pregnancy on Instagram in February.
He sang, “Next thing you know / you got a baby coming in June / acted out the words in no time soon,” changing the lyrics to reflect the exciting news.
“She got knocked up,” he continued. There will be a third baby soon. “Is that how we’re saying it, babe?” the country singer inquired, turning to face his expectant wife. It knocked you out?
“With a laugh, I think we can find a better way to say that,” Kristen continued.
“We have a baby. Once more. Before you know it. Davis came to an end.
The original meaning of the song, which illustrates how quickly life can change without you realizing it, was undoubtedly adhered to by the pair.
In the second verse, Davis sings, “You’re half excited, half scared to death / You weren’t really tryin’, next thing you know / There’s a test on the counter, next thing you know / She’s standin’ there cryin’, noddin’ her head, “Yes” / You’re half excited, half scared to death.” Towards the end of the song, he dreams of having grandchildren.
The new music video for this beloved song by the country music artist was also released recently. The video, which was directed by Running Bear, depicts the poignant lyrics of “Next Thing You Know” as it follows the emotional journey of one family.
A “FOR SALE” sign is displayed in the front yard as an elderly couple gives their family home one last look in the opening segment. Abruptly, as each of their significant life events and priceless moments together is recalled, new chapters in their love story begin to emerge. At the conclusion of the heartwarming music video, Davis—who co-wrote the song with Chase McGill, Greylan James, and Josh Osborne—even made a brief appearance with members of his own family.
The singer/songwriter added, “We pushed the limits once again,” when talking about the subject with his label. In June, there will be another one. I have to figure out a way to avoid having children in the summer, as I’m generally quite busy. You know I’m ecstatic, even though I’m not sure what I was thinking at the time.
