Turkish writer Yaz Sabuncuolu claims that Leicester City is one of three teams interested in signing Galatasaray’s Yunus Akgün.
He claimed on Twitter that the winger has had ‘formal bids’ to join the Foxes, FC Nantes, and Bordeaux on a loan deal with a required purchase option.
The amount the two French teams are prepared to provide is €1 million less than what Leicester is willing to offer the Turkish champions to make Akgün’s stay permanent, according to Sabuncuolu.
Even though the journalist doesn’t indicate who is now in the lead in the transfer race, this could assist Enzo Maresca’s team defeat Nantes and Bordeaux to capture the 23-year-old.
After Leicester was relegated from the Championship last season, the player will play in the division with a move to the King Power. Similar results occurred with Bordeaux, who was unable to return to Ligue 1. In contrast, Nantes play in the top tier.
In 70 appearances over the course of the previous two seasons, Akgün scored 16 goals and dished out 20 assists while on loan at Adana Demirspor. It will be interesting to see where he goes next if he were to depart Galatasaray once more on loan.
