Cincinnati Bengals extend coach Zac Taylor’s contract through 2026 NFL season following Super Bowl berth

The Cincinnati Bengals announced Wednesday that head coach Zac Taylor’s contract had been extended through 2026.

Taylor, the Bengals head coach for the past three years, led the team to Super Bowl 56 and the third AFC championship game in franchise history.

“Zac has come into the league and worked to establish the foundations for a great program that can be successful over time,” Bengals owner and president Mike Brown stated in a press statement. “The rewards of Zac’s work were visible this year, and Zac is well-regarded by our players and coaches. I know the effort and passion Zac brings to the facility and to our team, and I am impressed by his attitude. And I think the city of Cincinnati views him the way the players and I do. He’s given energy to the area and deserves praise and acknowledgment for that.”

Brown and Taylor reached a deal on the extension on Tuesday, the day after the team returned from Los Angeles. Taylor said the meeting didn’t take long because of the frequent communication he has with Brown and everyone else in the front office during the year. He cites this as a crucial cause of his success.
