Breaking News : New york head coach Andy Bischoff just singned his depature..

Giants TE Coach Andy Bischoff is leaving the team for a new role.

New York Giants tight ends coach Andy Bischoff is leaving the organization to join the Los Angeles Chargers under new head coach Jim Harbaugh, according to Football Scoop, which broke the news first.

Bischoff will be the Chargers’ new tight ends coach and run game coordinator. The added responsibility resulted in the Giants allowing Bischoff permission to go.

Bischoff, who has been with the Giants since 2022, worked with Greg Roman in Baltimore. Roman is allegedly set to join Harbaugh’s staff in a still-to-be-determined “prominent” offensive role.

The Giants already have two vacant vacancies on head coach Brian Daboll’s staff, the biggest being their defensive coordinator role, which was left when Wink Martindale quit last month.

New York has interviewed eight applicants for that post, including their own defensive backs coach, Jerome Henderson, and more recently Vikings defensive backs coach Daronte Jones, but has not had success as of yet in filling the vacancy.

The Giants also have an opening for an outside linebackers coach after head coach Brian Daboll fired Drew Wilkins from the role. But Daboll may blend those responsibilities with those handled by inside linebackers coach John Egorugwu to “fill” that position.

As for the now-reported opening at tight ends coach, it’s worth noting that Angela Baker, whom Daboll hired as part of his initial staff as an offensive quality control coach, could be considered for a promotion given how during her time with the Giants, she spent the bulk of her time working with Bischoff in the tight ends room. Baker was also recently the tight ends coach in the Shrine Bowl.
