Steve Clinkscale is moving to Los Angeles to work with Jim Harbaugh after leaving Michigan.
As Michigan’s new head coach, Sherrone Moore will have to replace a large portion of the staff. Steve Clinkscale, the defensive backs coach for the Wolverines, left the team most recently.
According to reports, Steve Clinkscale just assured the Michigan football team that he would be staying in Ann Arbor, but he later had second thoughts. With Clinkscale following Jim Harbaugh to the Chargers, the Wolverines will now need to replace another coach.
Tony Garcia tweeted, “This just in: Steve Clinkscale, the defensive backs coach, is leaving Michigan to join Jim Harbaugh’s staff on the Chargers, sources with knowledge of the issue told the Free Press.” “The coaching staff has suffered yet another serious setback, this time on the recruiting path.”
Michigan’s squad that won the national championship lost a lot of coaches and talented players. Michigan’s attack was led all season by JJ McCarthy, Roman Wilson, Blake Corum, and the offensive line; the Wolverines are losing each of those players to the NFL.
The NFL has acquired Jim Harbaugh, Jesse Minter, Ben Herbert, Jay Harbaugh, Steve Clinkscale, and Mike Elston. Michigan needs a lot of replacements.
The Wolverines have just taken home a national championship, so clearly the program is still doing well. Having been there for a long, Sherrone Moore witnessed what Harbaugh did to succeed.
He now has the opportunity to demonstrate that he is a top-tier coach as well. With the loss of most of the coaching staff and most of the production from the previous season, he is essentially starting over. Now that Sherrone Moore is in the spotlight, it is his chance to shine.
