He may not return: Doctor shares update on Everton Ace

The injury specialist reveals that in order to play in the game on Saturday, February 10, he could need to go through a late fitness test.

He suffered a hamstring injury in December and January that kept him out of action for over a month. On January 14, he played the full 90 minutes against Aston Villa before suffering a thigh setback.

About Doucoure, Bradley, a sports scientist and physical therapy specialist, remarked exclusively to Goodison News:

It sounds like he has a thigh ailment in addition to a Grade 2 hamstring strain from his past.

“Using bounce games to increase match fitness and meticulous rehab are the keys to lowering the chance of reinjury.”

“Maybe he has to go through a fitness test this weekend.

There is always a potential that he won’t be fit, though, as that will also depend on how he has been training over the week.

In a race against the clock

Arnaut Danjuma, Dele Alli, and Andre Gomes are already out for the match for Sean Dyche, and there are concerns about the fitness of a few more players.

In addition to Doucoure, Ben Godfrey and Amadou Onana could possibly be sidelined by injury during the match.

With the Toffees in a severe relegation struggle, Dyche will be praying that he has a solid group of players fit for the remainder of the campaign.
