Although there has been renewed conjecture in the summer around Stefon Diggs’ potential draft selection by the Buffalo Bills, the All-Pro wide receiver has other ideas about his future with the franchise.
In an interview with reporter Kay Adams for “Up & Adams” on February 8, Diggs refuted rumors that he is dissatisfied with the organization and emphasized that he intends to play out his career in Buffalo.
Diggs responded, “Yes, I mean, I told the media interview after interview that I wanted to retire a bill.”
Despite Diggs’ unwavering declaration that he wants to stay with the Bills, a number of insiders have conjectured that the team may decide to let him go this summer due to a decline in output. However, some insiders have dismissed the notion that Diggs could be released.
Trade Rumors Don’t Affect Stefon Diggs
Following his on-field outburst during the 2023 playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Diggs’s sentiments on the trade rumors that have been rife for the past two seasons were questioned by Adams. The rumors grew more intense the following summer as he posted a number of cryptic messages on social media that seemed to be expressing his dissatisfaction.
Diggs stated that anything may happen in the NFL and that he has no control over what occurs in the near future.

Diggs said that the trade speculations had him concerned about his future, even as he emphasized that he remained close to quarterback Josh Allen and called him “my brother.”

An insider dispels trade rumors
Although there were rumors that the Bills would think about dealing Diggs, Ralph Ventre of SI.com stated that there was very little likelihood that the organization would actually make such a significant change. The primary motivation would be financial: if Diggs were cut, the Bills would be facing a hefty dead-cap blow.
The idea of transferring Diggs is “a non-starter,” according to Ventre, who also noted that Buffalo would incur a $31 million dead cap hit if they were to part ways with Diggs.
In spite of a late-season collapse, the Bills have also openly affirmed their commitment to Diggs. The receiver did not record a touchdown reception in the final seven games of the regular season or the postseason, which was the longest span of his career.
Even still, following the season, general manager Brandon Beane of the Bills claimed that Diggs would be the team’s top receiver in 2024 and that more quality was required to surround him.
