Mark Murphy, the CEO and President of the Green Bay Packers, is set to retire.

The Green Bay Packers, who have been the team’s president and CEO since 2007, have revealed the selection procedure for the next person to take up the role. According to the organization’s bylaws, Murphy will formally retire in July 2025 after attaining the statutory retirement age of 70.

Susan Finco, lead director and vice president of the Packers executive committee, is in charge of the search committee of the board of directors. Dan Ariens, the executive committee secretary, vice chair of the search committee, and chair of the personnel and compensation committee, is supporting Finco in this important initiative.

Together with Finco and Ariens, the search committee is made up of people with a range of backgrounds and experiences, representing the industries and skill sets represented on the board. Mike Simmer, DJ Long, Marcia Anderson, Karl Schmidt, Michael Barber, Eddie Garcia, Robyn Davis, Jeff Joerres, and Mike Daniels are among the notable members.

The prestigious national search company Korn Ferry, which is well-known for its proficiency in executive searches, is working with the search committee. The Korn Ferry team, led by Jed Hughes, has decades of experience and has worked with the Packers on important executive searches in the past, such as when Murphy was chosen in 2007.

The search committee’s work is anticipated to take six to nine months, and it will end with the preferred candidate being presented to the board of directors for approval. Under Ariens’ direction, the search committee is aware of how serious their duty is to choose the next leader of the Packers.
