Colts Sign OL and DB among Trio of Moves
The Indianapolis Colts may be quiet on the trade front as Tuesday afternoon’s deadline approaches, but they were busy prior to the deadline with several roster moves.
Indianapolis signed offensive lineman Jack Anderson from their practice squad to their 53-man active roster, according to a report from Ian Rapoport on Twitter/X.
A 6’4 and 315-pound guard, Anderson will be counted on for depth behind starters Quenton Nelson and Will Fries.

Anderson was originally a seventh-round draft choice for the Buffalo Bills in 2021. He appeared in two games, starting one for the Philadelphia Eagles that same year.
He spent last season with the New York Giants and saw extensive action. He played in 12 games with two starts. Pro Football Focus (PFF) gave him a season grade of 47.9 with a 55.2 run-block grade.
On Monday afternoon, the Colts announced they had signed safety Tyreque Jones to the practice squad and released defensive tackle Ross Blalock in a corresponding move.
Jones was an undrafted rookie free agent out of NC State this year. He was an NFL Combine invite who measured 6’2 and 195 pounds with a 4.52 forty-yard dash.
NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein had this to say about Jones prior to the draft:
Box safety featuring good size and closing speed but a lack of fluidity to hold up to man-coverage duties as a pro. Jones plays with good toughness and a willingness to mix it up near the line of scrimmage. He’s capable in short zone coverage or against certain in-line tight ends, but he loses effectiveness when playing in reverse. Jones’ extreme length will catch the attention of traits-hungry teams, but those same teams will face limitations in how they are able use him.
