Man Utd have accepted an offer that would allow Hannibal Mejbri to join Luton Town on loan until the end of the season, according to reports.

The Red Devils brought Hannibal into the their setup in 2021 when he completed a €5m transfer from Monaco, which could rise to €10m depending on add-ons.

Hannibal has made just three appearances for the Man Utd first team with all his appearances coming in the Premier League.

The 20-year-old spent a successful loan spell at Birmingham City last term with one goal and five assists in 38 appearances for the Blues.

And now he is about to move up another level with Tunisian journalist Mahmoud Missaoui claiming that his compatriot is “one step away” from joining Premier League newcomers Luton.

Missaoui tweeted: “Hannibal is one step away from joining Luton Town FC. Agreement almost concluded, some details concerning the activation of his clause are to be settled with Manchester United before announcing.”

Missaoui has gone on to explain that Man Utd ‘did not follow up’ interest from Monaco with Luton the ‘nearest destination’ of interest.

He explains the Dutch club Feyenoord and Ligue 1 outfit Rennes have been ‘in contact with the player’s entourage’ while Leicester and Wolves have been ‘following the player’s situation’.

Football Transfers also have news on Hannibal and claim that Man Utd ‘have accepted an offer from Premier League new boys Luton Town’ for a season-long loan deal.

It is understood that the Red Devils’ ‘preference’ is for Hannibal to get Premier League experience this season and the website insists Man Utd are thinking about offering the Tunisian a new contract.

Man Utd will confirm the £72m signing of Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund over the weekend after giving up on their interest in Harry Kane early on this summer.

And former Red Devils centre-back Rio Ferdinand has been impressed by the “decisive” nature of the club’s business so far this summer.

“They have been very decisive. They had their targets and went out and got them done early,” Ferdinand told The Athletic.

“We haven’t had the bullshit we’ve had in past years where everything becomes a saga and it is always a will-they-won’t-they scenario. It has been refreshing.

“They quickly saw they weren’t going to get Harry or that it was going to be a prolonged saga, so there is no point doing that. I like that approach.
